As of this moment, I am still wrapping my first piece about Startup Weekend Cebu. The event does not only require one post. I intend to cover the three days starting from the registration then to the post-event Startup Weekend Cebu which was the Entrepreneurship Camp sponsored by Devcon.
I was privileged to be part of the organizers of the first ever Startup Weekend Cebu. Initially, I signed up as the blogger from Cebu Bloggers Society, Inc. to cover the event until I decided to join the organizing team of volunteers. So going to Startup Weekend was intended for two purposes– to cover the main event and to help in organizing it. However, the part of which I was involved as an organizer was in coordinating the mentors, who were prominent personalities of notable companies such as Google and Microsoft.
I happened to meet many people there, from CEO to developers of different companies. I was even surprised that there were executives and CEO’s of companies who joined the event as participants.
I really wanted to have my posts up in my other blog, Bjorn Cebuano about Startup Weekend Cebu. However, I needed to take a break from writing the first piece and so I decided to update this blog with a post about the event.
Startup Weekend Cebu was a 3-day successful event. It was very meaningful, nurturing and opportunity-driven event that even I had learned more from the mentors and the judges.
I am hoping for the 2nd Startup Weekend Cebu next year. Right now, I am working on my startup, TekWorx with a partner.
